Glasgow to Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness, Newcastle, Manchester or London — one crew from door to door, one fixed price, and no handover to a third-party carrier along the way.

A local Glasgow move is a question of access: stairs, closes and parking. Once you are moving two or three hundred miles, access still matters but it stops being the thing that decides the day. Distance, driver hours and the order the van is loaded in take over, and a plan that works for a cross-city move falls apart over a long one.
The single biggest difference is who handles your belongings. Some long distance removals are quoted cheaply because the load is passed between depots and carriers, which is where damage and delays come from. We send one crew and one vehicle from your Glasgow door to the new address, so the people who wrapped and loaded your furniture are the people who carry it in at the other end.
50 miles, around 1h 15m. Our busiest route, completed same day from £450.
145–170 miles. Same-day moves with an early start and one crew throughout.
150 miles down the A1 or A68, loaded and unloaded the same day.
215–220 miles. Same day where access allows, otherwise overnight.
290 miles. Loaded in the morning, delivered the following day.
410 miles, planned as a two-day move with the load secured overnight.
No depot transfers and no third-party carrier handling your belongings.
Insured for the whole journey, not only the loading and unloading.
Share a scheduled van and pay for the space you use, not the journey.
A confirmed date and arrival window, not a vague delivery week.
Wrapping built for motorway miles, not for a four-mile hop across the city.
Where entry dates do not align, the load is stored securely rather than rushed.
Priced on volume, distance and whether the job runs in one day or two. Every figure includes insurance, materials and a dedicated crew.
These are the destinations we run most often. Drive times are for a loaded 7.5 tonne vehicle and allow for the legally required driver breaks, which is why they are longer than a car journey.
| Destination | Distance | Drive time | Usually completed in |
|---|---|---|---|
| Edinburgh | 50 miles | ~1h 15m | Same day |
| Dundee | 85 miles | ~1h 45m | Same day |
| Aberdeen | 145 miles | ~2h 45m | Same day |
| Newcastle | 150 miles | ~2h 45m | Same day |
| Inverness | 170 miles | ~3h 15m | Same day, early start |
| Manchester / Liverpool | 215 miles | ~3h 45m | Same day or overnight |
| Leeds | 220 miles | ~4h | Same day or overnight |
| Birmingham | 290 miles | ~5h | Overnight |
| Bristol / Cardiff | 375 miles | ~6h 15m | Two days |
| London & South East | 410 miles | ~7h | Two days |
Three things set the figure: the volume going on the van, the distance, and whether the job can be completed in one day or needs an overnight. Distance is the part people underestimate — beyond roughly 250 miles a single driver cannot legally complete a load, unload and return within one shift, so the job becomes a two-day move and is priced accordingly. We tell you which of the three yours is at quote stage, because it changes when you need access to the new property.
If you are not moving a whole house, paying for a whole van makes no sense. A part load puts your belongings on a vehicle already running that route and you pay for the space you use rather than for the journey. It suits a studio or one-bedroom flat, a student moving home at the end of term, or furniture going to a family member at the other end of the country.
The trade-off is flexibility. A dedicated van leaves on the date you choose and arrives the same day or the next. A part load leaves when the route runs, so you get a delivery window of a few days rather than a fixed hour. Where your dates are firm — a completion date, a tenancy start — a dedicated van is worth the difference.
Every long distance move carries goods in transit and public liability cover for the full journey, not only while the crew is on their feet at either end. High-value single items — artwork, instruments, antiques — should be declared before the day so the cover level is confirmed in writing. On a two-day move the load stays secured inside the locked vehicle overnight; nothing is unloaded into an intermediate warehouse.
Two to four weeks is comfortable for a dated long distance move. Friday departures, month ends and the weeks either side of a school term change go first. If your completion date is not yet certain, book the slot provisionally — moving a held date is far easier than finding a new one at ten days’ notice. A one or two-bedroom move runs from around £450 to Edinburgh and from around £1,350 to London, with a three or four-bedroom move higher. Distance, volume and whether it is a one or two-day job set the figure. A part load costs considerably less than a dedicated van.
The whole UK mainland. Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Inverness are our most frequent Scottish routes; Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol and London are the regular runs south.
Yes. One crew and one vehicle go door to door. Your belongings are not transferred between depots or handed to another carrier, which is where most long distance damage happens.
A part load shares a van already running your route, so you pay for the space you use. It suits smaller volumes and flexible dates. If your moving date is fixed by a completion or a tenancy start, a dedicated van is the safer choice.
Secured inside the vehicle, which is locked and alarmed. Nothing is unloaded into an intermediate warehouse. Where you would rather it was stored formally, we can route it through our storage facility instead.
Yes, and on a long journey it is worth it. Our packing service packs to transit standard, which matters far more over 400 miles of motorway than over four miles across Glasgow.
Two to four weeks for a dated move. Friday departures and month ends go first. Provisional bookings are fine if your completion date is not yet confirmed.
Tell us as soon as you know. Shifting a held slot is usually straightforward, and where the gap is longer we store the load in between rather than leaving you to find a second mover.
Edinburgh to London and everywhere between. One crew, door to door, fully insured, with the price agreed before we load.
